Pleo is coming!

Ugobe's Pleo has been turning some heads since his announcement a couple of months ago, but now he's almost here! It seems that Ugobe's page will soon post details on how to preorder your very own smart dinosaur. Now dont expect it to go fetch your newspaper or get your breakfast right out of the box, but if we get it to work with the wiimote and tear the robosapien to pieces we could actually look past the -probable- high price tag and go get one ourselves. Expect the Pleo to hit stores sometime in March just in time for...spring?

"Really Fun Interactive Devices" - RFID Hits the Road in NYC

-On Monday, some Mini-Cooper owners have begun to see customized billboards, as they drive within 500 feet. The pilot program using RFID, or as marketing strategist's are calling them, "Really Fun Interactive Devices", have launched in New York, Miami, Chicago, and San Francisco.

At the same time, authorities in Great Britain are proposing a radical plan, which would put GPS in every single British Car. The proposed plan would charge drivers a flat hourly rate for driving in congested areas, at peak hours.

Something smells fishy, and it's not just the British. It seems certain movies have done a great job depicting the future. Remember "The Minority Report"? Today retinas are being scanned in airports, RFID's are being used voluntarily for targeted marketing, and now Big Brother wants to track your every move in Britain.

Not too long ago, the American Public was in an uproar over the Bush Administration's, illegal wire tap program. Although these acts were illegal, corporations like AT&T willingly collaborated with the NSA, in order to invade your privacy.

Where is this false sense of trust coming from?

A closer look at Bill Gates and Vista on the Daily Show

As we all know by now Bill Gates was at the Daily Show yesterday, In case you missed it here's the video Lets have a closer look at the Gates video and see how good or bad he did at the Daily Show.
An Overview

Is it unusual 5 years -to vista- because in the computer world 5 years ago people were using the abacus? Yea between 3 and 5 years... - yea….right….moving on. Pff 5 years-

Is this unbelievably special? What does the f12 button do? Start with f1 and work your way up –what about?... this is the best version of windows yet? This deserved such a better answer.

5 million people downloaded it? In essence they stole it? that’s the beta version.

What is a beta version will that in any way make them sterile? That’s the term we use when its not quite ready. – Ha just hilarious, I dont think he tried too hard to make this funny.

What if I don’t know how to use it? Call me

What’s your screensaver? is it the toasters? What’s your password? Is it Gates? do you have pets? Did u ever have a pet when you were younger? What was the pets name?
-He could have sold the improved security so much better. But ohh no this is what we get parental controls and layers?

Stewart: My parents can decide what websites I can go to? Goodbye porn!

When are we going to get jetpacks? Is the future what you thought? We are not there yet. –This was a clear set up for gates to go on and talk about Microsoft’s vision. Unfortunately it took him a while to catch on. In the end he saved it and confirmed that TV is where its at.

Then he gets up and leaves…Please Mr. gates we know you are a busy man and had to travel to Europe but you’re still trying to sell a product here. The least you could do was wait 5 seconds to finish the segment. That exit made you look like an fool. –yes. yes.. I know that those 5 seconds were probably worth millions of dollars but they would probably have been worth it, once you consider than on the other hand you have a marketing genius -Steve Jobs. So next time you are on the air don’t just make an appearance make it a great appearance.

Overall we give Windows Vista a 4/5 but Gates’ Keynotes or interviews still score really low.

Check out the the video and tell me what you think
EDIT: HAHA what really happened video

The wait continues...is it here yet? how about now?

According to apple insider there are plenty of iPhone and iPod rumors going around in the wild. Most of these rumors point to an addition to the iPod line most likely to the nano-EDIT: Shuffle-family – call it a Valentine’s day special. Also rumor sites have reported an expected early launch for the apple iPhone this would bring the iPhone to the states as early as April. This might solve the mystery of the expected super bowl ad by apple but not about the February special apple event. Only time will tell, until then the countdown widgets will be the only thing that keeps us alive until we get our hands on that apple iPhone.
EDIT: Well what do you know, the ipod shuffle just got more colors...so I was a little off but still close enough.

Wal-Mart gets energy boost

Seems like the retail giant Wal-Mart has been a busy bee. Wal-Mart plans to save $15 million annually by cutting its energy bills. The retail chain has created 'Texas Retail Energy' in order to serve its Texas retail stores. This leaves Wal-Mart with total control over its energy bills and it could potentially lead the company into the consumer market. Cheaper electricity could revolutionize the energy companies work and charge for energy.

Is a FREE space trip worth it?

Here's a question, how much is space travel worth to you? Are memories really priceless? Well this is the question that Brian Emmett tried to answer. Apparently in 2005 Brian Emmett won the Oracle free trip to space sweepstakes, which entitles him to a "free" trip to space. This is where it gets tricky, by US law Mr. Emmett is required to report the $138,000 trip to the IRS which leaves him with a $25,000 debt in taxes. Now I ask you, do you give your childhood dream of traveling to space, or put in a little extra work to pay off the 25K debt? What would you do? leave a comment.

Sweet Deal!!!!

Sweet deal of the day Toshiba Gigabeat 60GB Portable Media Player for the amazing price of $199. With a 2.4 inch screen it plays your regular MP3’s and Windows Media formatted files, and connects to your 360, what else could you want?
